Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith

  1. The Bible is the infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and is the supreme and final authority for all Christian faith and life (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21, 22)
  2. In one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Luke 3:22; John 10:30; John 14:26)
  3. Man is created in the image of God but separated from God by sin. Without Jesus we cannot have a relationship with God (Genesis 1:26,27; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; 1 Timothy 2:5)
  4. We can have a personal relationship with God through salvation, God’s gift to man. It is not a result of what we do, but is only available through God’s unearned favor. By admitting we have sinned and believing in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and accepting Him as Lord, we can spend eternity with God. (Matthew 3:13-17; John 3:3; Romans 6:4; Ephesians 2:1-9; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7)
  5. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict men, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for godly living and service (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8)
  6. Jesus will return and take all those who have accepted Him as Savior to heaven for eternity (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:3-17; Hebrews 9:28; 1 Corinthians 15:51,52)
  7. The family is an institution of Divine Origin, the first covenant of love among His creation, between male and female coming together as one flesh with a mandate to love, train and teach their offspring in a protective, secure environment that produces godly personality development, correct godly destiny and direction in life. (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:24, 12:3, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Proverbs 22:6)
  8. Children are a heritage of God and a reward for their parents (Psalm 127:3; Matthew 11:25, 19:14; John 16:21)
  9. The family unit is not defined as an immediate family, but as a generation which God empowers to prosper (Isaiah 59:19, Jeremiah 29:11)
  10. However, the biblical concept of the family has been attacked by Satan imparting generational curses that have created society’s moral dilemmas. The South Shore Christian Academy will work with the local churches to equip families to break strongholds and live the abundant life promised in Christ Jesus. (Isaiah 58:6-12; Jeremiah 6:1-16; John 10:10)
